The existence of this museum is due to the initiative of two passionate collectors, Denis BARBE and Christophe DESCHODT. Fascinated by this period the historyit was necessary to them more than 40 years of relentless esearches to gather these thousand objects among which some are today untraceable.

This museum is a testimony for the current and future generations, of the sacrifice of million young people; Whatever is their nationality, they suffered or gave their life for a cause which they considered good, or to defend their freedom and that of theirs.

55 millions of them will die during this tragic period of the history.
